Summer 2026 Skincare & Makeup Trends

Skincare

As we head into the warmer months, rising temperatures, increased humidity, and sun exposure can create a variety of skin concerns—from dehydration and excess oil to hyperpigmentation. The good news? This season’s skincare trends are focused on maintaining a healthy, radiant glow while protecting and strengthening the skin.

Hybrid Sunscreens

One of my favorite skincare innovations is the rise of hybrid sunscreens. These multitasking formulas not only provide broad-spectrum UV protection but are also infused with antioxidants, peptides, and other skin-loving ingredients that help improve the skin’s overall health and appearance while shielding it from environmental damage.

Menopause & Perimenopause-Focused Skincare

Hormone-conscious skincare continues to grow as more research highlights the long-term effects hormonal changes have on the skin. Many brands are now incorporating ingredients such as phytoestrogens, ceramides, and nourishing lipids to help restore hydration, improve elasticity, and support collagen production during perimenopause and menopause.

Peptides & Growth Factors

Peptides and growth factors remain leaders in the anti-aging category—and for good reason. These powerhouse ingredients help stimulate collagen production, improve skin firmness, soften fine lines, and support healthy skin renewal for a smoother, more youthful complexion.

Retinol: The Gold Standard

Retinol continues to be one of the most effective ingredients for improving skin texture, fine lines, acne, and pigmentation. While prescription-strength retinoids offer the most dramatic results, there are many excellent over-the-counter retinol products available as well. Always apply retinol in the evening and don’t forget your sunscreen the following morning. For even brighter skin, pair your morning routine with a Vitamin C serum.

The “Beach Skin” Trend Is Taking Over

This summer is all about embracing fresh, effortless beauty that lets your natural skin shine through.

Skin Tints Over Heavy Foundation

Instead of a full-coverage foundation, reach for a lightweight, buildable skin tint. It evens out the complexion while maintaining a natural, dewy finish that’s perfect for warmer weather.

Cream Blush Is Everywhere

Cream blush continues to dominate—and it’s easy to see why. It melts seamlessly into the skin, creating a healthy, sun-kissed flush that looks incredibly natural. Pair it with a cream highlighter for an instant lit-from-within glow.

Lip Stains Are Back

Lip stains have made a major comeback, offering long-lasting color with minimal maintenance. They’re perfect for summer days when you want effortless beauty. Add a swipe of clear or tinted gloss on top for extra shine and dimension.

Bronzer for Effortless Warmth

Whether you prefer cream or powder formulas, bronzer remains a summer essential. A touch across the forehead, cheeks, and jawline instantly creates warmth, and that coveted “just back from vacation” look.

Metallic & Shimmer Eyes

Metallic and soft shimmer eyeshadows are an easy way to elevate your summer makeup. Champagne, bronze, gold, and soft rose-gold shades add a light-catching dimension while keeping the overall look fresh, luminous, and effortless.

My Summer Beauty Tip:

Less is more. Focus on healthy, glowing skin, lightweight complexion products, and strategic touches of color and luminosity. When your skin looks healthy, everything else becomes effortless.
